Tourism in the landscapes of the Finnish lake district
Located in the heart of the Finnish lake district, the Kuopio region is one of the up-and-coming international travel destinations in Finland. The goal of tourism in the Kuopio region is to develop the industry in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. The idea is to react to the change in consumer behaviour and the green transition through digitalization. It is also important to promote programme services entrepreneurship and digital services, meet the skill and labour needs of the industry and foster the growth of the industry through networked co-development.

In the provinces outside the capital region, such as Pohjois-Savo, there are none at all. I set out to develop the PihlasResort project with the idea that we want to provide our domestic and foreign guests unique experiences in Finnish nature combined with premium quality. I believe that North Savo has all the prerequisites for growth, as long as we develop of transport connections and the availability of labour.”
