Appointment: Maarit Manninen becomes Business Promotion Officer at Kuopio Business Development Services

Maarit Manninen, M.Sc. (Econ.), M.Sc. (Soc. Sc.), has been appointed Business Promotion Officer at the Business Development Services of the City of Kuopio as from 9 November 2020.

The Business Promotion Officer works in expert tasks related to business development and national and international funding for research and development projects. The position involves working together with various stakeholders to develop research, education and innovation environments and forming a link between businesses and the services provided by the city.

Maarit Manninen moved to the Business Development Services from the Emergency Services Academy Finland, where she had worked as Planning Officer and Project Manager since 2016. Prior to this, Manninen worked for several years at Kuopio Innovation Oy with various expert and project tasks related to business development. Manninen possesses strong expertise in e.g. various sources of funding and funding advice, business development and sparring, business collaboration and project activities.
